The following is a brief timeline detailing the murder spree of the female suspect, Ally Farson. As new
information is released, details will be uploaded onto this site. Note: The information presented on this web site has been gathered from official police
reports, the coroners office, media releases, family members of the victims and research conducted by the principals at ShadowMan Entertainment. The 7 murders ( the body of the first victim has not been located at the time of this publication and is believed to be in the Orange County area) occurred from June
3rd through to the last murder on August 9th, 1999. ChronologyJune 3rd 1999 – John Doe ( male in early 20's - body not identified at this time ) murdered in the Monarch Beach area, approximately 90 minutes south of Los Angeles. June 5th 1999 – Sabrina Dietrich ( 23 year old female ) was found murdered in the area of Monarch Beach bluffs ( an area situated near the beach that is well known to police). June 26th 1999 – Carol Hilliard
( 28 year old female ) discovered by a fellow co-worker, murdered in a clothing store in which she worked. This store is located in the Dana Point area, south of Newport Beach. July 11th 1999 – 3 individuals found murdered near a convenience store located just north of Monarch Beach.
Victim #4 – Katie Moss
( 18 year old female student ) found deceased, lying by a telephone pole in a local mall parking lot. Victim #5 – Kristin Brennan ( 19 year old ) found choked to death in the back parking lot of the
mini-mall housing the convenience store that victim #4 was located at. Victim #6 – Rex Martin ( 29 year old male ) found deceased behind the Monarch Beach Market with multiple wounds. August 8th 1999 - Alfred Johnson
( AKA "Yo-Yo" ) found deceased in a private driveway located west of Monarch Beach Market. This victim died as a result of massive injuries sustained from a vehicle – pedestrian motor vehicle accident.
Details of all of the murder victims can be found on the pathology page.
August 24th 1999 – The office manager at ShadowMan
Entertainment (Robert O'Connor) finds a parcel leaned up against the door upon arriving at work. The package bears no postal or delivery service markings. Upon opening the package, approximately twenty
8mm-film cassettes are found. ShadowMan Entertainment receives dozens of unsolicited tapes, film, scripts and lyrics each year so this particular package was placed on a desk inside and left. All package
wrappings were discarded. August 25th 1999 –
The DVD tapes were viewed for the first time by Mr. O'Connor. The tape content appeared initially to be an amateur film. Upon
further review, Mr. O'Connor recognized a number of scenes that took place in the area in which he lives ( South Orange County ). The events on the film tapes appeared very realistic. At this time, ShadowMan
Entertainment's owner, Robert Lambert was notified in New York ( he was on business at the time the tapes were dropped off). He flew back to California the following morning and viewed the tapes on the 26
th of August. August 27th 1999 –
Because of the amateurish nature of the film footage and quality, Mr. O'Connor suggested an expert with digital film be consulted to
confirm the authenticity. Film Editor Sidney Kassouf, regarded as one of the best editors of film in the industry, reviewed the tapes and unhesitantly vouched for the film's authenticity.Later that day,
Mr O'Connor and Mr Lambert met with Detective Ray DeLima and the police reviewed the tapes. It is believed at this time that these murders had been linked and the footage provided linked the killings to one
person. A task force was established and the investigation continues. Note:
Although the murders occurred in Orange County, the tapes were originally provided to local police in Los Angeles county. A joint task force was established as police attempted to determine what other murder investigations might be related.
It should be noted that a copy of the tapes was provided to the Sheriff's office as it was not known at this time if these
tapes were in fact real. A controversy over ShadowMan Entertainment keeping a copy of these tapes has emerged. More details on this will follow. September 18th, 1999 – based on problems and delays in the investigation and public outcry over the safety of the local citizens, ShadowMan Entertainment decided to take a unique approach
to assisting the police. A documentary would be released in December or January outlining the serial killings along with unreleased film footage. This web site was created as well to allow the public to work
with the police and investigative team to assemble clues and monitor the investigation. Efforts are taken by police and some members of the victims' families to prevent some of this information being made
public. Update: September 20th, 1999 – ShadowMan Entertainment previewed the film footage for two newspaper reporters following the case. Information on this can be found on the reviews page. September 30th, 1999 – A court injunction is filed to prevent the airing of any footage on television or radio. One family files a court order requesting the copies of the footage be
provided to the family. The courts refuse to honor this at this time. Reporters at the courthouse report the family intends to sue both ShadowMan and the Orange County Sheriff's office. |
