Rosenthal lives in Juneau, AL. He has a daughter who lives and works in Monarch Beach. Rosenthal was seen talking
with Moss and Brennan the day before they were murdered at Monarch Mall. The following letter was sent to ShadowMan Entertainment, with permission to print it on the website.
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Jim (James) Rosenthal. My daughter works down there in Monarch Beach, and she just called to let me know that you all have put up a website regarding the
pursuit of an Ally Farson. I knew a few of the folks who were murdered, and wanted to get this information to you immediately.
I knew Katie Moss and Kris Brennan. I met them about a year ago
when I was down for the tall ship event. I come down every year to see my daughter. Sometimes I go on down to Tijuana for the winter and then come back up through to visit again. That's what I did this past
year. I ended up staying through the fourth of July, and another week before I headed back up here to Juneau. I left Monarch Beach on the evening of July 10, 1999.
I would like to explain that
my daughter didn't know these two young ladies. She had told me that she had heard about the murders at Monarch Mall, but she never passed any names on to me. It wasn't until last week that my daughter
became aware that I knew Katie and Kris. When she saw my name in conjunction with them on your website, she – obviously – became quite upset and contacted me immediately.
Now, I understand that
you all are trying to do something right. And by your standards, I believe that you are justified. But you mentioning my name without contacting me first really upset the applecart in my life. I could be
really rough on you about this, but I thought about it, and decided that I best not burn any bridges.
The Orange County Sheriff's department has not contacted me. From the information on your
site, I believe that you have a strong case. It might be clear that I am not a suspect, but I don't know this. So I would like you to publish this letter on your website as soon as you receive it so that the
world knows that the relationship that I had with those two women was platonic. They were nice, and they were good company to go out and see the sights with. Maybe I'm giving myself away, but I'm just a
little over the hill. But still good-looking! Ha! To have these two gorgeous women accompany me out and about what quite a treat.
The last time I saw them was the day I left. From what I see, I
now know that it was the day before they both were murdered. I find the slayings to be ludicrous. I don't understand how three people can be killed in front of a bunch of people. And to be filmed. I feel for
their families. But I have my own family, what little is left. And I have a baggage check and my ticket to prove that I was on the flight to Juneau the night of the tenth. And I have witnesses here that know
I arrived on the 11th.
Please do not implicate my daughter. She does not carry my last name, and she's a very private person outside of her work. She has her responsibilities and cannot lose her
job. If you have any further questions that I can answer for you, I have enclosed my phone number for your convenience (please do not put my number on your website!).
