Witness Statement: John Williams

Williams was one of two hikers who found the body of Sabrina Dietrich on June 6^th, 1999.  He and his friend called 911 from their cellphone and waited for the Orange Beach authorities to arrive at the scene. Preliminary statement was made at the scene.

STATEMENT:

I don't really remember much. I was just talking to Charity here about the elections in Asheville, back home. I know she wasn't paying much attention, but gosh, she never does. I just talk to her to help clear my head. Next thing I know she's wallering around in the bushes over yonder, and sort of yelling for me to come look.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. You go out walking, and you end up sitting in the same place for hours. Just because your girlfriend finds a dead body. Man-o-day.

I reckon Charity took the cellphone and called ya'll up. I sure didn't do anything. I couldn't. I've been hunting, fishing, out in the woods all the time. Never have found a body. Probably never would have if it wasn't for Charity.
